Trenchdrains for driveways

When choosing a water heater, you have to consider the size of your family and the installation location. Measure where you want to place the unit so you know it fits to avoid additional work later. For households with up to two people, a 23- to 36-gallon water heater will work. Choose a 36- to 46-gallon model for families of four and a 46- to 56-gallon tank for a five-person household to meet daily needs. You can also install more than one tankless water heater in your home for optimal results during high-demand usage.

Polymer concrete end caps with outlets are also available for 6″ pipe. The end caps with 6″ outlets are made to fit the 620, 620H, 625, 625N and 625H channels. Due to the pipe diameter of the 6″ pipe, only deeper POLYCAST® channels have this option.

Hold-down or locking devices serve several purposes. They help to keep grates securely placed within the trench drain system to prevent them from hopping as traffic crosses them. It also prevents debris such as stones from getting between the channel and the grates which could erode, pivot, and break over time. They also serve to deter theft of the grates.

Tankless water heaters eliminate the large, bulky storage tanks and replace them with on-demand hot water. When you turn on a hot water tap or start a load of laundry, tankless models heat the water as it passes through the system. Tankless water heaters provide consistent temperatures, though like collection-tank heaters they can run out of hot water under heavy usage conditions.

Ductile Iron grates are available in a raw state that naturally rusts or in a Baked on Oil Finish (BoOF) in which the natural oxidation process is sped up and finished with a clear powder coat that provides protection to the brown patina. Many of these grates meet bicycle safety, heel friendly and ADA requirements for wheelchairs.

Another TDS exclusive is the DP0670F sold end outlet series. These outlets are used when bottom draining makes the end outlet option unnecessary. This is particularly important where high temperature solutions exceed the temperature limit of standard plastic end caps. End caps are available for all channels for all channels with bottom cut-out templates (600, 605, 610, 615, 620, and 625). Embossed cut-outs templates in most end caps facilitate field fabrication when appropriate.

POLYCAST® systems have a few options for end caps and outlets. Choose from the site sizeable DA0670 combination inlet/outlet cap are used to enclose or provide piping transitions to outlet or inlet ends of the channel whenever catch basins are not being used. End caps output to a 4″ pipe.

Polymer concrete end caps with outlets are also available for 6″ pipe. The end caps with 6″ outlets are made to fit the 620, 620H, 625, 625N and 625H channels.

If you are in need of a bottom outlet for this system you can save time and money for the necessary tools by having Trench Drain Systems core drill your channels in advance. Click here to learn more.

Standard POLYCAST® locking devices consist of a bolt that feeds through the grate into a bar inside the channel that locks into side pockets. Grates are made in a variety of materials and coordinating lockdown devices are available for each type.

When selecting grate options, consider adding POLYGUARD edge protection to your channels. Edge protection installs easily over the top of the channel and covers the upper horizontal and vertical surfaces. Besides giving your channel a clean and sleek commercial look, POLYGUARD protects the exposed upper edge of the POLYCAST 600 series channels from unplanned impacts that lead to chipping and scarring. POLYGUARD is supplied in pairs of 24″ and 48″ lengths and are available in galvanized and stainless steel.

Tankless water heaters like those from Eccotemp rely on gas or electric connections for operation. Electric water heaters feature an element that heats the water as it passes over it. Gas water heaters have a burner that heats the water to the desired temperature. There are also propane-powered water heaters that are ideal for RVs and other outdoor areas. Both gas and electric water heaters use up to 30-percent less energy than a traditional collection tank model. You'll also need to place your tankless water heater in an area where you can add ventilation for proper functioning.

With the POLYCAST® Series commercial drainage system, you have a wide selection of grating options. The grates measure 5.25″ in width, come in either 24″ or 48″ lengths and are secured by a bolt and toggle system. The load capacity of the 600 Series grates ranges from pedestrian (Class A) to heavy automobile traffic (Class D). For heavier loads, POLYCAST® 700 Series is available. This system offers grating in a wide range of material types such as:

Hubbell’s POLYCAST® 600 Series is one of the most prominent small commercial drains on the market. The 6.25″ wide (OD) polymer concrete channels have a built-in .65 percent slope that allows the system to achieve flow rates of 470 GPM, higher than drainage systems of similar size. Channels are offered in 48″ and 24″ lengths. Channel edge protectors are available in galvanized steel and stainless steel. For projects where deep-sloping channels are required, POLYCAST® 600 Series also offers extender panels that increase the depth and length of a trench drain run.

POLYCAST® 600 series installation chairs tighten the joints between the channels while aligning and leveling the drainage run. Each installation chair is secured to the ground via rebar, ensuring that the channels will not float during the concrete pour.

POLYCAST® 600 Series installation chairs tighten the joints between channels while aligning and leveling the drainage run. Each installation chair is secured to the ground, ensuring that the channels will not float during the concrete pour.

Installation chairs are the most efficient and economical means of setting a precast trench system. The installation chair supports the ends of the channel, aligns and locks the joints rigidly together, and prevents the channels from floating. Adjusting channel elevation is easy. One chair is required for every joint. Each chair is made from 1018 hot rolled steel and has a zinc plated finish.

The DP0600C series end caps are available exclusively from Trench Drain Systems. These end caps fit the shallow end (inlet side) of channels 600N to 615 and are made from either polyester or vinyl ester polymer concrete. Each end cap is identified with the corresponding channel number, fit the channel recess exactly, are secured with construction adhesive and have the same width as the channels edge. They simplify installation and provide a congruent look.
