Vacuum relief valveworking principle

Pressure and Temperature Relief Valves are designed to relieve excess pressure caused by water expansion, which may develop during the normal heating cycle.

Pressure vacuum relief valvetesting Procedure

1st Choice Hot Water have very dedicated and highly trained technicians ready to repair, service and install any water heater system. Each technician has received training from the manufacturer and are fully licenced. With a response time second to none, and a large selection of spare parts on board, 1st Choice Hot Water will get your hot water running to its full capacity very quickly. We also have very competitive hot water system prices.

Never fit a T&PR valve with a rating higher than that indicated on the water heater rating plate. Do not use reconditioned T&PR valves.

1. Partially drain the water heater (refer to “Draining the Water Heater” on page 29). 2. Remove the drain line from the T&PR valve. 3. Unscrew the T&PR valve and remove. 4. Confirm the replacement T&PR valve is the correct rating and refit using thread tape. 5. Refit the drain line.

This valve serves to supply the required cooling air to the side channel compressor when the entire area of the vacuum table is covered. The valve will be installed with a T-piece in the suction line to the vacuum table and supplies the necessary cooling air to the side channel compressor. The control range of the valve is adjustable.

6. Close the hot tap and restore water supply. 7. Check T&PR valve thread for leaks. 8. Operate the T&PR valve lever to reset relief drain. 9. Purge air from the system through hot taps. 10.Restore the power supply to the water heater.
