EZEK water filtration systems are designed to operate at a maximum water pressure of 500 kPa (Kilopascals) which is around 72 psi (pounds per square inch), or around 50 metres of head. Exceeding the operating water pressure for the water filter will cause damage and invalidate the warranty.

To avoid damage due to excess water pressure it is recommended to first check the water pressure at the premises before installing the water filter system. There are a couple of methods that can be used.
Water pressure enables water to flow along pipes to your home and have a good flow of water coming out of your taps. Most residential water systems are designed to safely operate at a pressure between 40-70 psi. When the water pressure greatly exceeds the normal operating range of the water systems it can damage the equipment. The damage can include burst hoses, cracked housings or damage to water filter cartridges. All of which will result in flooding of your premises if it goes on unchecked.

Pressure is measured by many water authorities as “head of pressure” in metres from the reservoir. Roughly 1 head of pressure = 10 kPa (1.45psi)
Step 4: If you measure more than 40 head of pressure, then you should consider installing a pressure limiting valve (PLV). Anything over 50 head of pressure requires a PLV to be fitted or you will damage the water filtration system.
Step 3: Take another meter reading and subtract the first reading from the last. This will tell you how much water you used within a minute.
If the reading is greater than 500 kPa, a pressure limiting valve will need to be fitted to the inlet of the water filter system.
