The Teachers Registration Board of South Australia acknowledges the significant work that has been undertaken between ITE provider’s and employers/schools to ensure that all professional experience placements are suitable under the ITE provider’s accredited program(s).
The intent of the Board is not to exempt individual preservice teachers from components of their accredited course, but to ensure ITE provider compliance with accredited programs. Accordingly, it is not the role of the Board to examine each situation where deviation from requirements is sought, but to set and review benchmarks for ensuring overall compliance, even where there are teacher shortages.
