Ray Wohlfarth - great video and an excellent reminder to clean out Y strainers and address leaking vents. I LOVE that you put in you used a screwdriver to listen to the water flow. Over the years, I used the trick to listen to steam in the pipe, but I've upgraded to a mechanic's stethoscope (amazon has a 2-pack for under $10.00) and have given clients one and taught how to use it to troubleshoot steam related issues.

Unlike other self-priming pumps, the Super T Series is equipped with an easy-access suction check valve. This valve can be inspected or replaced without disconnecting piping, streamlining pump maintenance. This video demonstrates how to remove a suction check valve on a Gorman-Rupp Super T Series pump. #GormanRupp #SelfPrimingPumps #PumpMaintenance
✤ Benefits of Piercing Tubes Prior to Plugging: Tube piercing is a preventive measure against potential plug blowouts and allows for the validation of the tube plug’s integrity. A significant temperature difference between the tube side and shell side might even require the tube being cut into two. If there’s any uncertainty or if there’s a risk of a tube plug blowout during future pressure tests or inspections, it’s advised to pierce the tube, regardless of the type of service. ✤ The One Revolution Tube Cutter (ORTC) is a tube piercing tool developed by the EST Group. It is designed to pierce heat exchanger tubes before installing 'Pop-A-Plug' Tube Plugs. • The ORTC can cut both ferrous and non-ferrous tubes, which are commonly found in heat exchangers, boilers, and condensers. • It has an adjustable depth for tube sheets from 1”- 6” thick. • The tool can be operated simply with a ratchet or hand wrench. However, it is not intended for use with impact wrenches. ✤ Learn more >> https://lnkd.in/gEymHgPD

Vacuum Tube Leak Inspection & Testing: vacuum leak tester is a simple, precise method of testing tubes in boilers, condensers, and heat exchangers. It is the fastest, most accurate means of locating leaky tubes for plugging or replacement. Using a compressed air, the vacuum leak tester create a vacuum in a tube to a desired negative pressure (e.g. average of -0.6bar) on the vacuum gauge for at least 10 seconds. A non-variable reading on the gauge would indicate that the tube is not leaking. If the pointer on the vacuum gauge changes direction then a tube may have a through-wall discontinuity.

A technical question...🔧🔧🤔🤔 If in a compression chiller system with a screw type compressor and R22 refrigerant, the evaporator tube of this chiller, which is made of copper, has a hole in its contact area with the baffle, what could be the cause of this hole? 📝Of course, in the condition that the water quality is favorable and does not affect the corrosion of copper tubes.

Why does a vacuum furnace for #HeatTreatment use a lip seal on the door❓ Sometimes when I talk to myself I wonder about this... In High Pressure Gas Quenching (HPGQ) furnaces, the choice of seal depends on the operating conditions. Lip seals are preferred in pressure furnaces because they are designed to withstand high pressures, making them suitable for applications where the furnace operates under pressure. This type furnaces typically operate briefly under ambient pressure before transitioning to a pressurized state. Lip seals are essential for maintaining pressure integrity during these pressurized phases. They provide effective sealing during overpressure situations, ensuring safety and preventing leaks. Lip seals offer better performance under pressure compared to other sealing components. In summary, while lip seals are ideal for pressure furnaces due to their ability to withstand high pressures, O-rings are more suitable for tempering furnaces operating under ambient pressure conditions. What's your experience with furnace seals❓ Do you have any insights or preferences to share❓

Packed column versus Tray column Plate columns : 1-Plate columns can handle wide range of gas and liquid flow rates. 2-Plate efficiency can be predicted more accurately 3-Plate column operation is considerably smooth. 4-Cooling arrangement can be provided in plate column. 5-Plate column provide stage wise contact. 6-When the liquid cause fouling or deposition of solids, even though the tray is blocked up, it is easier to clean it and manholes can be provided over the plate. Packed column: Packed columns are more suitable for low capacity operations. Packed columns are particularly useful in the field of vacuum distillation. Here column pressure drop is of paramount importance to minimize the pressure and temperature at the bottom of the column. For separating heat sensitive materials packed columns are useful because the liquid hold up is low. When corrosion is a problem packing may be the only answer. Pressure drop per unit length is less in packed column. Packed column provides continuous contact between the vapor and liquid phases. Packed columns are suitable for handling foaming system. Modern high capacity pickings are available in practically any material. Total weight of packed column is less due to use of low weight and high capacity packing. OQ8
📌API PLAN 11 Most common flush plan in use today. This plan takes fluid from the pump discharge and direct it to seal chamber to provide cooling and lubrication. Seal flush from the pump discharge through orifice. General application with clean fluids. Default seal flush plan for all Arrangement 1 and 2 seals. ↪️Fluid flows from the seal chamber back into the process stream. ↪️Important to determine the required flush flow rate (especially for high-head applications) and select proper orifice and throat bushing dimensions to assure adequate flow. ↪️Can be used without a flow control orifice for some low differential head or high viscosity applications. ↪️Provides cooling for the seal. ↪️Vents air or vapors from the seal chamber in horizontal pumps. ↪️Applicable for all general duties with sufficient pressure differential. ↪️Polymerizing fluids can cause clogging of the orifice and piping. ↪️Should not be used with fluids which are at risk of freezing, thickening, or solidifying in external piping 🆔https://lnkd.in/eM8Ky8rh
