Aqualock push to connectfittings review
i had a guy repair a hose bibb pipe that stuck up out of the ground. i accidentally had a sharkbite on the van so that is what he used. problem is is the repair was on the vertical pipe so when you went to turn the bibb on the pipe would spin also. it started leaking so i had to go out myself and repair it properly. - - - - - - - PLUMBERS "Protecting The Health Of The Nation"
he is talking about the plastic push on fittings like you see in water coolers and many point of use filter systems - - - - - - - PLUMBERS "Protecting The Health Of The Nation"

sorry, but you won't get any piece of mind from me. real plumbers use them in emergency situations. the good news is that they are easily replaced with real fittings.
No, that's behind the counter on the shelf below the PVC primer and the RectorSeal #5. e-plumber ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The society which scorns excellence in Plumbing as a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good Plumbing nor good philosophy: neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water." - John William Gardner 10/8/1912 - 2/16/2002 Repair your leaking Plumbing fixtures ASAP [www.theplumber.com] This slow drip will waste 7+ gallons of water per day.

I don't suppose any method of joining pipe will hold up very well improperly secured. Didn't this pipe already break once, before a sharkbite was used???? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Since 1995 (3 years before Google started) PlumbingSupply.com has been THE best plumbing supplier on the web. i would never use a sharkbite type fitting inside a wall. they have only been out for a couple of years. when they have been out 30 years with no lawsuits then id consider it. ive never had a sharkbite leak.
You are talking about the plastic Watts version of a Sharkbite... I wouldn't offer any piece of mind with them. I'll buck the tide here and say that Sharkbites by Cash Acme are fine for use and approved for use inside walls and even underground. As you can see at this link they are "just a little more" bullet proof than what you're talking about.[www.plumbingsupply.com] - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Since 1995 (3 years before Google started) PlumbingSupply.com has been THE best plumbing supplier on the web. Last week at the supply house, the counter salesman had placed a Watts quick connect tee on the counter for display. He had placed a 6" piece pex , copper, and cpvc in the tee. I picked it up and was fiddling with it. The cpvc was coming off the branch of the tee, so I grab it with my right hand, and with my left I hold the run of the tee. With a motion of opening a real tight bottle cap I begin to twist and pull at the same time. The salesman sees what I'm doing and says" you won't be able to get ........., " at which time the piece of cpvc popped right out of the tee. Neither of us said a word as I layed the 2 separate pieces back onto the counter.

DIY'r looking for a little piece of mind with these Watts Quick Connect pex fittings. Anyone have any issues with these fittings during a home inspection? Are they totally to code? I have replaced a number of older pipes with pex during my kitchen and bathroom remodel. Seemed like a good idea since solder would be difficult in some of these areas. Part of me wants to go back and use one of those pex expander things to get a “tighter” seal. Please be kind, I am looking for some reassurance so I can sleep at night!

E....John Guest had the first "push on" fittings dating back 20 years, there a very good Product for "exposed" areas. You my be saying theres knock offs of them now?I use JG for filters and Refridge connections.Shark bits/Watt are for Clown Plumbers and Handymen.
great...the next question is Ambien CR or Lunesta? (jk) what about them being to u.p. code, etc. When I sell my house some day is an inspector going to say anything or will they pass that test?
Sleep well, I have had those fittings in my house for years without a problem. If you are talking about the cinch type fittings, if you are talking about the sharkbite type fittings, Different story. PlumbCat TM 2003 Plumbermandan Edited 1 times.
If you're referring to these plastic 'John Guest' push-fit knock offs, I don't trust them. Whenever I see them installed, they are always in exposed locations, most under sink cabinets for point of use water filtration systems. Using them to actually run hot & cold water lines would be a poor choice of the different materials available. e-plumber ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The society which scorns excellence in Plumbing as a humble activity and tolerates shoddiness in philosophy because it is an exalted activity will have neither good Plumbing nor good philosophy: neither its pipes nor its theories will hold water." - John William Gardner 10/8/1912 - 2/16/2002 Repair your leaking Plumbing fixtures ASAP [www.theplumber.com] This slow drip will waste 7+ gallons of water per day.
