It detects an increase in water flow caused by the failure of an old or faulty hose. Water flow is cut right away, preventing damage to the home or unit. This valve only cuts the water to the affected hose that has burst leaving the dwellings water supply totally intact.

If the system is activated, to reset, you simply take the burst proof valve off the tap and it will rest automatically. Reinstall onto tap and reconnect the hose. It does not get any easier.
