My house didn't come with a backflow preventer. I'm planning to install a Zurn 1-375 double check reduced pressure backflow preventer. I'm Sandy, UT. Should it be installed above or below grade? If I were to install it below grade, I'd leave at least a foot of air space below the valve so it can drain. The only issue I can see is if it completely filled itself up with water.
