Self-operated, direct-acting regulators help control temperature of water, steam, or other liquid systems without electricity. They feature bronze construction with steel springs and seats. Direct-acting valves are used for heating and are normally open. Use in heat exchangers, kettles, building heat, bottle-washing machinery, plating tanks, heating ducts, cooking vats, and parts washers. A temperature control valve is just like any other control valve. The only difference is that the control valve helps to maintain the temperature of a desired process at a specific level. It is often abbreviated as TCV – Temperature Control Valve – in most process drawings and P&IDs.
