If you have a basement, it is at risk of flooding - even if it has never flooded before. Daily, the risk is low; however, it still exists, especially during a heavy rainstorm or rapid snowmelts.
If you wish to report a problem during regular business hours, such as a concern about a leaking water meter, a taste or odour concern, a possible watermain break, no water coming from your taps, or any other water related issue, please call the Engineering and Public Works Department at 519-736-3664.
Utility providers in Amherstburg are dedicated to bringing you cost-efficient, quality services to your home. Services such as water and sewage are provided by us, while others are provided by third parties.
To better understand the causes of basement flooding and to learn ways to protect your house, the Town had prepared a Sewer Surcharging and Basement Flooding Information brochure.
The above noted utilities are not provided to all properties across the entire Town. Please contact the appropriate service provider for availability.
Updated annual Water Treatment Plant reports are prepared by the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA). These reports summarize the Water Treatment Plant operations per the Ontario Drinking Water Systems Regulation O. Reg. 170/03.
