This valve is thermostatic, meaning it closes once 90 degree water reaches the valve. This should be installed under the sink that has an outlet (usually the kitchen sink). The pump can be installed on the hot or cold side of the valve, with the direction of flow pointing toward the hot water tap – either upstream on the cold side, or downstream on the hot side.

The Sunbank Recirculation Valve and Pump Kit uses the Watts (Grundfos) valve that connects the hot and cold supply lines under the sink in the bathroom furthest from the water heater, allowing for the cold water line to be used as a recirculation line for hot water. This was designed to allow for instant hot water at the tap which can save a lot of water instead of waiting for hot water to arrive at the tap. It can be used with a timer, a motion sensor, or any other smart speaker or device.

The BEECO Friendly Double Check Backflow Preventer Valve is designed to stop the reverse of flow of a liquid into a potable water system. The proper installation of a backflow preventer must be done by a certified expert under local codes and guidelines to assure the protection of the drinking water system. The Valve shall be certified to ASSE 1015, CSA B64.5 and IAPMO listed.

The Sunbank Recirculation Valve and Pump Kit can be used to protect the piping from freezing when run on a timer at night during the winter, or to save water by providing instant hot water at the tap. Although it is not necessary for all installations, the Sunbank Recirculation Valve and Pump Kit is a good addition to most installations and like the Sunbank Solar Water Heater, it pays for itself quickly.
