August 2015 saw OPD Ltd. complete the design of a brand new and bespoke large scale induction pipe bending machine for our new multi-national client, a global leader in their respective field.

The new machinery will be used to bend various types of heavy-duty pipe of diameters up to 0.45m, 8m long and up to 180°, primarily for use in the oil and gas industry, and will be installed in the client’s manufacturing facility in the 2.3.2E.  The boundary-stretching machine design leverages the latest technology in efficient electro-mechanical and hydraulic drive systems, high strength linear motion components, and precision guiding.  The machine is designed to be fully automatic and easy to install, set up, operate and maintain thereby vastly reducing the overall system cost.
